Heating wire cannot be cut or shortened. Heating wires must never be closer than 2 ½ inches apart.
The mesh between the wires may be cut but take great care not to cut or nick the wire itself. Wire may also be removed from the mesh and laid out on the floor. Secure in position with pieces of 1 wide duct tape, or hotmelt glue.
